AFRO DEMOCRATS
Understanding the Black Democrat

A most disturbing reality exposed the main beliefs of Black-America in the last presidential election. Out of the entire population of black-America, half of them are registered voters and 90 percent of those voted for the Democratic Party.

A negative stigma called "racist-bigotry" has attached itself to the conservative label in the eyes of blacks, and conservative views have become a transgression among them. Yet, if we resort back to the traditional meaning of conservatism in its ethical sense it means "old fashion ways" in respects to family lifestyle, self-respect and respect for others, and an honest and decent days work.

Only one explanation can account for this overwhelming lopsidedness in black-American ideology, which is the perplexity in defining minority rights. The sixties were the decade for minorities, i.e. black-Americans and women, and they were causes worth fighting for against the domain of the oppressive white-male. However, the eighties and nineties have brought about groups of minorities who also want rights and blacks and democrats - in order to show their fairness - must fight for them.

These new groups (and its unclear whether they are actually minorities in the sense of race, gender, creed, religion, or national origin) such as homosexuals, pro-abortionist, pro-sexual promotion, pro-animal (dog, cat, mouse et.) as well as the anti-crowd such as anti-religion in schools, anti-two parent family - pro-single mother, anti-parent responsibility, pro child-rights, et. are all proclaiming a doctrine contrary to decent traditional values.

Though the above issues of democratic society are against everything a decent, God-fearing human being would support, the supporters of the former issues also fight for equality, an issue that deserves a fight in a capitalist society. Equality in matters of economic stratification, educational and equal housing opportunities no doubt deserve response in the most prosperous country in the world, (in deed the war against the oppressive white male persist); however, when did social equality take precedence over morality in the minds of and on the political agenda of black-America? The overwhelming support of democratic ideology among black-Americans is frightening.

To this day, the black family is in shambles because of a so-called shortage of black men and the rise of black working mothers. The birth rate of black teenage girls has doubled since the seventies, and the young black male is incarcerated twice as much as their white counterparts. Though college enrolment is up among blacks, and a slight rise in black families over the poverty line since the seventies is factual, everything negative increases with only a small increase of the positive.

These issues do not need political policies or government sponsored mandates, these issues need addressing through morality. Family structure, community bonding, and strong spiritual leadership through community churches are a beginning. Take notice that the moral issues are traditional ones, ones that give structure and direction. Living moral-free and allowing rights to every so-called minority that claims human legitimacy encourages an ungodly society.

To condemn conservatism means to condemn traditional values, without the added oppressive mindset of the white-male. In other words, thinking conservative and voting conservative does not mean that one supports racism, though that is what most of black-America believes. In contrast, thinking democratic and voting democratic does not necessarily mean that one is anti-family or anti-Christ, though this is what most republicans believe. Yet, liberalism in the form of democratic ideology is surely beginning to support lifestyles that many deceased black ancestors and leaders would denounce.

Confusion of this sort, especially in the mind-set of a people so large in voice, needs a logical approach. One or another fear must subside in black-American belief, either trust the world political system and forever battle racism, or trust God and stand in the liberty of His Word by courageously reproving immorality.
