In the wake of global civil unrest in reaction to the West' and America's foreign policies; the poor, the oppressed, and the underdeveloped in many parts of the world need a victory against the apathy of the rich and powerful, and an abrupt rise from the grassroots of America's people could set that victory in motion. The Political Party of the People (POP) should arise now. Afromerica nominates the Black mind that shares the vision.

As President Bush's approval ratings continue to drop because of the War in Iraq: as the American people continue to feel second-class to millions of illegal immigrants pouring over the border and obtaining rights not even natural born Americans have: as Black America continues to experience the sting of racial intolerance: As many South American countries, presidents and peoples, protest the United State's so-called Free Trade agenda: as low-income immigrants of Muslim and African descent continue to riot in the streets of Paris, France, let us and the world realize that change is imminent.

Change against the New World Order must take place or the agenda will arise and things will only get worse. Lewis Farrakhan spoke at the Millions More Movement of a suggestion from other speakers that the poor of the people begin their own political party, the POP, Party of the People. This is exactly what is needed to get any respect from the left or the right of the American power structure.

Not to suggest that violent uprisings by rebels and insurgents of other countries against the oppressive government regimes is an idea worth considering in today's current geopolitical environment, seeing America has no problem with siccing "their boys" on a helpless populous. But a hard swing away from the two major political parties to an independent party representative of the people, is the best, and possibly, last chance the powerless of this country may have.

The problem comes with choosing the candidates. The people do not need a presidential candidate that will do nothing more than bring worn policy from either of the two dead parties. The people need an original agenda that the rest of society would vote for while the other two no longer appeals to their political or social needs.

Now is the time to design that agenda, when the America voter is disgusted with both parties and would otherwise vote for anything that addresses their needs or even sounds good to their ears. This should not be difficult for a potential candidate to design seeing how uneasy and untrusting the public is with current domestic and foreign policy.

The candidate in question would have to be completely unbiased to either party, the Democrats and the Republicans, would by all means have to separate themselves from the agendas of both, and would have to see the true needs of the people: employment, civil and social justice, affordable health care, protection against corporate fraud and exploitation, a foreign ambassador that seeks peace with other nations instead of seeking to colonize their lands. They would have to realize the people need decent education and community bonds instead of government interference. Most of all, the people need spiritual direction; one not diluted with traditions of men or the agendas of autocratic doctrines.

This agenda should be put into place before the next presidential election, therefore, finding candidates now is of the essence. Because the people are restless and seeking action instead of talk, this is the action that must be implemented now.
