Why White America Fears Black Liberation TheologyFor 6 years Afromerica has promoted the theory of Black Nationalism, the original doctrine of the new Black Liberation Theology. Recently, through the media montages of Rev. Jeremiah Wright have we learned that America fears the words he speak and the concept behind those words, which is a form of Black Liberation Theology. For clarification purposes, and to all those (Blacks and whites) who are ignorant to the meaning of BLT, here is a summary: Historically put, the BLT originated with the desires of African slaves in the south wanting freedom from slavery and oppression. They believed that they were just as worthy to life and liberty as whites and tried numerous times, although unsuccessfully and in the face of brutality, to gain this freedom to live. As time passed and the restraints were more legally structured, Black men and women of the BLT mind-set organized abolitionist groups and movements to break free from racial oppression and begin their own social community, ideology, and education for Blacks in America, even to the point of leaving America and returning to Africa, yet again, unsuccessfully because of racial jealousy, hatred and terrorism.
Now, BLT is not a separatist theory or a racist one, it is the practice of self-sufficiency on the part of Blacks to develop themselves along side other cultures in America, such as Asians, Jews, Native Americans, and other ethnic groups who bind together to support their communities. The problem, however, is that there remains a faction of Black America - the Civil Rights crowd - that have not yet grasp the BLT practice but continues faith in the American government for its liberation while other ethnic groups have moved on. White America likes this dependency because it forever pacifies their ego to the superior status they so miss during Jim Crow and slavery. So they ignore the BLT because it would mean Blacks would no longer need their services or promises, but will at some point come to support themselves. So what they do in mainstream media is demonize BLT and focus on Civil Rights doctrine to convince the nation and Black America that the Civil Rights movement is the best thing going for them.
The Black Liberation Theology is not a threat per se, nor is it a hate doctrine, it is its own tough-love movement that will break the dependency on white politics, funding, and promotion and require Black leaders to think and do for themselves, something they have no knowledge nor training in because they have been educated and indoctrinated in the ways of white political dependency. Nor does BLT promote hatred toward whites, but is a doctrine based in truth and reality. It does not promote victimization by teaching Blacks to complain about race problems, but encourages them to stand proud of who they are and support one another in all our efforts.
The white conservative faction of America fears BLT because it would exalt more Black men to independence and power and present a direct challenge to white men who insist on maintaining control of American society. Though southern Democrats supported slavery, northern white conservatives discouraged it but supported supremacy. They freed the Black man but kept him subjected to lower-paying jobs of menial position. So Black Liberation is a threat to white America because it would mean they have lost control over the last stock of Negros they have, the Civil Rights faction of Black America that are too weak and faithless to do for self and who would rather sit beside whites in equality instead of directly compete with them from across the street. © Mar. 2008 By CR Hamilton
