What Constitutes a Conspiracy?
By Karen Hatter

The root word in conspiracy is conspire and for the purposes of this piece, I intend for conspiracy to refer to the action of secretly plotting unlawful acts as well as the act of conspiring among conspirators.

On February 22, 2008, the Star-Telegram reported that on February 20, 2008, Dallas Deputy Police Chief T.W. Lawrence, head of the Dallas Police Department's Homeland Security and Special Operations divisions, said to be acting on orders thought to have originated from the United States Secret Service, halted the security procedures that had been in use that included using metal wands and searching purses and laptop bags, as people waited in line to be seated to hear Senator Barack Obama in Dallas, Texas....[more]

capitalism (4K)Sub-prime Mortgage Crises: Proof Capitalism creates Permanent Underclass

For the minds that hold to the ingeniousness of the capitalist system, believing it is a system that brings out the competitive entrepreneur hidden deep within the human spirit; please explain the most recent creation of the new financial underclass without cowardly blaming the poor....[more]

spying (3K)Spying is a Sign of Weakness

From government military and political strategies down to the jealous husband, the concept of spying reveals a flaw in the overall stability of the one doing the spying. Biblically, the act of spying was used to scout out the ground of foreign lands for potential growth, or to make note of the size of the population for settlement reasons. But never was it used as a weapon against those being spied on.....[more]

prisonlabor (3K)Legalized Corporate Slavery: A Sick & Twisted Reality

In the most illusive manner, corporate America in cahoots with U.S. Government judicial system has played the people like fools. In an attempt to appeal to the American opponents of corporate outsourcing, economist and corporate heads are underhandedly attempting to convince citizens that the best alternative to outsourcing is prison labor, which is suppose to protect the domestic job market.....[more]

diamond (2K)Diamonds in Conflict and the Disease of Greed

Other than the obvious, throughout history, diamonds have been used as a cutting tool, to transmit sound, and for optical applications. The latter uses of diamonds are ones that contribute to development of industrial societies and civilizations but the most obvious use of diamonds serve as nothing more than to feed the vanity of humanity......[more]

Free, White and 21 in the USA

Jennifer Wilbanks, the "runaway bride," made one fatal slip. She accused a Hispanic male and a white female of having abducted her while jogging in Duluth, GA, and they had allegedly taken her across country to New Mexico. She also claimed sexual abuse. This is felonious conduct.......[more]

elitist (2K)The Power Elite Theory

Is there a select elitist group that ultimately runs America? This theory has been researched before by social scientist and one scientific model has surfaced as proven. The Power Elite Model, constructed by C. Wright Mills, who believes that the Power Elite exist and control political decisions regardless of the procedures of democracy and political elections.......[more]

Racism, Crime, and the Prison System
By Steven Malik Shelton

"The problems of crime in America are complex, combining social, economic, moral. and political factors. And no one factor should be indicated without placing due emphasis on the others.".......[more]

While the Poor Sleeps

What more evidence could one ask for to prove the inequalities and hypocrisies of America's social-educational system than the story that is to follow? Inequalities such as wealthy suburban schools squandering millions of dollars from an enormous annual budget; a budget that could make a major difference in the well-being of a few dozen poor urban schools.......[more]

Limbaugh, Stewart, Bryant, Jackson and Capitalism

No one should have to ask what the first four names have in common. They are all high-profiled media personalities that are charged with crimes from drug abuse to securities fraud to rape and child molestation. But because they all have mega-bucks, probably neither of these infamous people will ever have to suffer to the full extent of their crimes if either is found guilty and convicted. So what does that have to do with capitalism?......[more]

The Responsibility To Compensate

Despite the wonderful clarity of DNA evidence, which has exonerated more than 80 Americans of crimes for which they have been imprisoned, two-thirds have never been given any compensation for their lost years. In a country in which some slip-and-fall claims win millions of dollars, it is startling to realize that decades wrongly spent in maximum-security prisons are typically worth nothing......[more]
