The Death Penalty: America's Psychotic AppetiteAs one of the only countries left in the world to enforce the Death Penalty, on November 27 and 28, 2005, the American Justice/prison system has executed a person each day, while trying to make a 1000-execution quota. The curious mind would ask whether or not the American judicial system and those supportive of it and the Death Penalty is getting a rush from this psychotic and questionable behavior. In Varner, Ark. "a man was executed Monday for killing a teenager by slashing her throat with a box cutter. Eric Nance, 45, offered no last words when offered a final statement. Except for a slight quivering lip, he lay still on the gurney while receiving the lethal injection." [full story] "Lucasville, Ohio carried out the nation's 999th execution since 1977 on Tuesday, putting to death a man who strangled his mother-in-law while high on cocaine and later killed his 5-year-old stepdaughter to cover up the crime. John Hicks, 49, was put to death a day after Eric Nance was executed in Arkansas for killing a teenager by slashing her throat with a box cutter." [full story]
A riot is what they are truly seeking so they can have another chance at degrading Black behavior and to shoot and kill some if possible. American law enforcement and media are truly mentally and morally bankrupt. For a country supposedly built on Christianity - as followers of Jesus Christ who condemned the death penalty concept as eye for an eye and suggested just punishment, the soul-thirsty American religious-right has appeared to have lost their right mind in their quest to meet a 1000-execution quota. However, some sanity was found in Virginia when "clemency was granted to a convicted killer who would have been the 1,000th person to be executed in the US since the Supreme Court reinstated capital punishment in 1976. Mark R. Warner, Governor of Virginia and a likely Democratic contender in the next presidential election, commuted Robin Lovitt's sentence to life in prison without parole, because evidence had been destroyed after his conviction." [full story] America's morals are going down the toilet at the highest level of power and the people are suffering a slow and powerless defeat. More community and activist groups are needed to rise and speak out by drastic measures. Maybe we can bring sense back into the madness of American society. © 2005 By CR Hamilton
