AFRO ABUSE
Sexual Abuse
By Rosita

What happens to the life of an individual that results in that person resorting to commit an act of sexual abuse? To date, [we] can only speculate the reason why. While the subject of sexual abuse runs rampant throughout the world, the truth is we (women) are silenced in correcting the problem.

Men are the major violators of this horrible offense, yet men are ultimately charged with setting the stage for the rules and disciplines in association with the brutal act of personal violation. No one, especially clergy, should be allowed to rape and victimize others (be it once or over an expressed period of time) and receive eighteen (18) months in prison. In this respect the rule definitely benefits the rule-maker.

Rape is a violation of one's "self" that remains as a psychology scar for the duration of that victim's life. Therefore, the punishment in association with rape, molestation, and/or phonograph should be conducive to the age of the victim at the time of the offense. In other words, a child who suffers the indignity of sexual abuse should feel security in knowing that their violator will be sentenced to incarceration for the duration of his/her natural life or upon pardon from the victim.

Only when [we] can heighten our compassion to the victims of these crimes of violent dominance will we understand that rape doesn't end with the commission of the sexual act. Rape, does haunt its victims until the cessation of life of its victims.

Furthermore, rape negatively effects communities and continues to undermine the progression of civil liberties of the human race. This demoralizing, dehumanizing, and debilitating act of control and dominance is more destructive than an atomic bomb. It robs victims of their culture, self-esteem, spirit and security in being human.

Consequently, it steals innocence. Innocence is the catalyst, which becomes the foundation for creativity, hope, love, trust and honor. These entities represent the essence of humanity itself. When the courts merely grants eighteen (18) months for these offenses, [we] as parents, victims, communities, leaders and humans, should feel disgraced, and demand changes accordingly- a better law for the betterment of humanity.

One question remains- is it then fair for the alteration of one lifetime to be replaced with the alteration of another lifetime? My response is yes! It is fair for [us] to believe that no one has a right to commit offenses of sexual abuse without knowing their judgment will indeed cost them their life of freedom.

Sincerely,
