The Kind of Bull AOL/Blackvoices Teaches Black Women
See, articles like the following by an AOL columnist is a problem and why "Black women cannot find a good man." It is this type stereotypical mainstream bull that will send an otherwise good relationship to the trash. If Black women of America are reading such articles and accepting it as normal, or even thinking like this, then this is why Black relationships have problems. No one (man) in their right mind should take this crap seriously. With an Afromerica Interpretation, we will tear this mainstream bull apart.
AOL Article - Inside the Minds of Women
By Camille Lowry, AOL BlackVoices columnist
Contrary to male opinion, women don't enjoy drama. In fact, we're working overtime to improve male-female relations. We've logged in hours watching Oprah and reading self-help books to gain new skills and insights, while men roll their eyes. But our efforts haven't helped, because it takes two. So fellas, please read these 10 hints about the female psyche, so that maybe, finally, we can all just get along.
AI (Afromerica Interpretation)
First mistake of the female psyche, listening to Oprah for hours and reading self-help books. These two pseudo-American relationship killers are laced with feminist ideology that is written basically for women soon to be lesbians. And is there any wonder why, because the tips and advice is not a part of reality but of female fantasy, which will bring us farther apart.
AOL Article - Treat Her Like a Lady
Yes, we want to be respected as individuals, and have equal standing in the workplace, but we still want you to open the door for us. Don't use women's lib as an excuse to be lazy. A little effort goes a long way with us. And paying for the first date goes even further.
AI (Afromerica Interpretation)
It is all about the money, no more, no less. Calling brothers lazy is disrespect in itself so how can a woman expect respect when thinking and talking this type nonsense.
AOL Article - We Invented Window Shopping
While we would prefer that you not look at other women, it's unrealistic to think that you won't. After all, we check out cute guys, too. But notice when we do, our tongues don't hang out of our mouths. You men think you're being slick, but you're not.
AI (Afromerica Interpretation)
Stereotypical mindset, to think men act and behave like animals when a female passes by, this is proof that females are more susceptible to mainstream stereotypes than men are. To see men as things that behave like dogs is degrading not only to your Black men, but to your own intelligence.
AOL Article - No, That Doesn't Feel Good
Our nipples are not the twist-off cap on your beer bottle. Nor are they the dials on the radio. They are not your toys. They are parts of our bodies. Gentle, gentle, gentle.
AI (Afromerica Interpretation)
It is all about sexuality, nothing more, and nothing less. The fact that this was even mention exposes the female mind where it pertains to temptation and seduction. What man in his right, thinking mind would believe that this has anything to do with the success of a relationship. If this is a major factor in the wellbeing of a relationship, then maybe women should rethink what the hell they really want.
AOL Article - Grow to Love Aunt Flo
Don't go there with that time of the month. You don't have one. You have no idea. We didn't sign up for PMS. Stop acting as if we choose to feel like this. And if we say anything unreasonable during that time, all behavior is to be forgiven, especially since this hormonal process helped bring you into this world.
AI (Afromerica Interpretation)
This bit of unneeded, irrelevant information is too shallow and ignorant to even comment on. A man understands that women have this God-given natural cleansing, it is the females with the problem and who make it a big deal.
AOL Article - We Dig Thinkers
We appreciate a man with a plan. Spontaneity can be nice but a half-baked plan is just lame. When you take us to a restaurant for our anniversary without making a reservation, and we have to wait for a table for two hours, we feel like you don't really care. Simple forethought shows us that we're important.
AI (Afromerica Interpretation)
You dig thinkers? Yeah right. Females want activity (the shallow ones) constantly and would believe that without constant activity going on in their lives that the relationship is a failure. Gather together your priorities first before you come with such fake desires. Women do not understand a thinking man, if they did, then the above and rest of this list would not exist.
AOL Article - We've Got a Plan B
Remember when you got jealous that time a guy invited me for coffee at 9AM, and I told you he was just a friend? And you said whenever you're the first thing a guy thinks about in the morning, he's not just a friend? Well, "He's just a friend" means, yeah, I know he wants me, and if you don't do me right, he just might get me! A girl's got to have a plan B.
AI (Afromerica Interpretation)
See, this is a sure killer. To hold something this disgraceful above the head of a man is nothing more than games-playing. If a man loves you, you would never do anything of this sort because you would be sure of his love. Therefore, if a woman has to hold a plan B (hidden Negro) in the closet to maintain her so-called man, she has a psychological problems that needs addressing quickly. Let us call it insecurity.
AOL Article - You Can't Handle the Truth
When we say we've never slept with anyone on a first date, or that we've only been with one other person, we're lying. Just like you do when you say you're going to call. We do want honesty. But we also understand the protective value of a little white lie.
AI (Afromerica Interpretation)
If this is true, then all women are dogs.
AOL Article - We Can't Handle the Truth
If we've gotten chunky, and we ask if we look fat, just say no.
AI (Afromerica Interpretation)
Why ask us? If you cannot see it for yourself, then go ask your girlfriend. Handling the truth? Who is in denial here?
AOL Article - Prepare for the Inevitable
There are some things in life that are certain. The sun sets in the west, Mariah Carey always exposes too much cleavage, and women will always ask where the relationship is going. You know it's going to happen. Why aren't you ever ready for it? You act like a camper in the woods trying to survive a bear encounter by making no sudden moves. You can't avoid confronting your feelings when you are in a relationship.
AI (Afromerica Interpretation)
If you bring a man's feelings to the front, then he will confront them, however, if you cannot move him with your own character, then there is a problem not necessarily on his part. You want emotion, continue watching Oprah.
AOL Article - Yes, They Know
I know all women say we want intimacy. But if you think there are only two of us in this relationship, you're crazy. We share every moment of our affairs with our friends, sisters and mother. They know all the mushy things you've said, what size you are, and that you make me TiVo 'Desperate Housewives' for you. But be clear they also know every time you mess up and hurt me. This relationship has a jury. So you'd better watch your step.
AI (Afromerica Interpretation)
This is sick and demented. To encourage women to share their personal business with other people is a huge mistake on the part of this writer and AOL for publishing this crap. If people have a seriously working relationship, it is their business and theirs alone. To hell with everyone else.
Afromerica wants to plead with Black America not to frequent this disillusioned website because of this type destructive content. If we allow ourselves to be programmed to think this way, then we are contributing to our own immorality as warranted by the oppressor.
This writer should not be allowed to write and AOL/Blackvoices should be banned from directing content to Black America. It is not a site that has the best interest of Black America at heart.
