AFRO COMPLACENCY
Complacency is the Imputes to Failure

Far too often we stand alone waiting for someone or something to hit us and wake us up....

We cry a thousand tears but, there is no one there to hear our cries...

We watch the night creep back into day and we ponder the possibilities of tomorrows coming...

We stand outside the window in the storm looking for a familiar face to motion for us to come inside...

The question becomes simple...When are we going to stop crying about the things that we can not control without our hands held out to be brought into the time of day?

Remember this:

"If you don't stand for something, you will fall for everything."

In our apathy we stand waiting for someone to lead our personal fight...it is not theirs ....it is ours and we have to claim it to be able to conquer it...

Now is the time to fight for ourselves and believe in our own strength and abilities to accomplish the impossible. If our ancestors did not believe in their rights as human beings and if they did not believe nor envision a better life for us in this society, then we would still be washing out "Mastas" clothes with our tears, fear in our hearts, our children running around ignorant and terrified, as well as the blood of our brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers running in the tearful streams that fall from our faces as children of sorrow.

We need to wake up and recognize that things are not always what they seem. They are better, so now we have to continue to fight the fight that many are afraid of. See, David did conquer Goliath and toil, struggle and death became the middle names of those that came before me and you. What do we do?

We stand our ground and fight because we have the right, knowledge, ability, courage, responsibility and faith to overcome this demoralizing, dehumanizing, deliberate act of injustice. Wake up!!! I have...

Just a few thoughts....
