Corporate American Dream
My services compensated for a wage.
My aching feet and that threatened white woman with out a raise
My souls blister and my shifts are long
I slave, I mean work for a wage that keeps me in a cage
I stand all day, sometimes losing my posture
Half of my life goes to pay bills and work for nil
And work for a meal and damn I'm still in debt
My college (in)tuition still gave me minimum wage and a
Ladder I have to raise
My job is like a cult, hypnotizing management reforms our psyche
To believe pro corporate america and good-bye to individual dreams and hello working poverty
And there I go and feen for a different way of living
And a different way of seeing life
Where perspective are not altered and aspirations not slaughtered
That is my american dream
