AFRO DIVERSION
Media Diversion and Black America

Where is the attention of Black America? focused on the indoctrinating illusions of television media. During the morning, afternoon, and evening prime-time hours, Black America open themselves up to being indoctrinated by American propaganda, which divert their attention away from real life.

We wonder what is wrong with our schools; choosing to blame the president or political policies rather than take responsibility for what we allow into our own minds. We would rather accept the words, theories, and research efforts of people we know nothing about and apply their findings to our lives instead of taking note of what is actually happening around us everyday.

During the morning hours, soft talk shows tell us what to think and ponder the rest of the day by reporting what happen in and around the nation the day before. They expect us to take what they say as gospel and preach it to others around us. What is actually happening is that we are being trained to think what the American propaganda machine wants us to think.

During the afternoon hours, we are blinded by fantasy through soap opera dialog and unreal lifestyles that reflect nothing of our own lives. And we soak in these illusions of life and try to live up to these false standards and hopes. Then we turn to the popular gatekeepers of motivational speaking such as Oprah and Dr. Phil and take what they say as truth even if their words contradict what we see each day.

In the evening hours, when we return home from a day of living a lie, we flop down on our sofas and are sucked up by prime time crap and reality TV. The television shows depraved of everything right and true and is filled with promiscuity and sexual expression of whorish women and men. Relationship killers, they are.

Men, so stereotyped into the role of idiot sports lovers ignore their families only to shout coaching strategies to overpaid athletes like children answering preschool questions on educational TV. Women, absorb the advice of relationship building and child rearing from so-called experts who have no spouses or children to give advice on.

We as consumers are constantly pushed toward the nearest shopping plaza or fast food joint to partake in the great American economy, consuming goods we have no need of but for a moment of pleasure. God forbid the holidays come and we get the "spirit." We are like zombies walking to our debt-filled deathbeds.

Black America should know what television does to the attempt at building the Black community and make it better. It does nothing but tear down any efforts we pursue simply because it is a devise used to divert our attention. Wake up Black America and use your mind for our future, not theirs.
