The article below found on the BET website is the most idiotic, race-laden, deceptive piece of trash reporting targeting the Black community if there ever was one. While it appears on the surface to attempt to raise concerns in some (who knows what kind) Black activist to speak up against this sort of so-called criminal biasness, it is nothing more than a tactic being used to prepare and condition Black people to accept the fate of Black men and their relation to the prison system.

Do not even pay attention to this type crap vomited from such ill-informed bunch of pseudo-Black representatives of the people, who are nothing more than liaisons between the liberal elitist whites and the masses of Blacks. It is from this crowd that Blacks are bombarded with bogus information and beliefs system that if we were to believe would be worst off in the future than we are now.

It is a tactic being used to condition Blacks to accept a fate designed and practiced by white America and Black uncle toms that have neither sense nor knowledge of what the struggle is about. The owner of BET should be locked in the prison system (of sellout Blacks) and confined to solitary then sent to death row because he has committed a crime against his own people: fraud; defrauding Black America of truth and an identity.

White Convicts Hired Before Blacks

Posted June 17, 2005 - New York employers preferred to hire White ex-convicts more often than Blacks with clean records, a new study on ex-convict employment has found.

The study, which was done by two Princeton University professors and announced Thursday, also found:

· White ex-convicts receive far more job offers than Black men with identical records.
· Black men who had never been in trouble with the law were only half as likely as Whites with similar backgrounds to get so much as a job call back let alone an offer.
· Young white high school graduates were about twice as likely to receive positive responses from New York employers as equally qualified black job seekers.
· Black job applicants (with no criminal background) were even slightly less successful than white applicants who had just been released from prison.

"It takes a Black ex-offender three times as long to receive a callback or a job offer," says Devah Pager, an assistant professor of sociology and one of the study's two authors. "Often, employers are not willing to look beyond a criminal conviction particularly when the ex-offender is black."

Started in February 2004, the 18-month study sent 13 White, Black and Latino men, posing as ex-convicts, to more than 3,500 job interviews throughout New York City, Pager said. The men applied for a broad spectrum of jobs, the authors said they took pains to minimize all nonracial difference - personality, interpersonal skills, education levels, prior work history and even neighborhoods where they were from.

Nationwide, one in three Black men with only a high school diploma will go to prison before turning 40, says said Jeremy Travis, the president of John Jay College of Criminal Justice, which announced the study results yesterday. More than 630,000 people nationwide leave prison each year.

New York City's correctional commissioner, Martin F. Horn, said he hoped the study would persuade elected officials to do more to integrate former prisoners back into society.

We, as Black Americans already know there is racism in this society and expect nothing less from white America, especially corporate white America or the judicial system; the fight is not for the ability for Black convicts to get jobs - as if that would make change in American racism - the fight is against the American judicial system itself.

To hell with BET and whoever wrote this mess. It is nothing more than a subconscious psychological effort to get Blacks to accept a most miserable fate; prison life and afterlife. How about reporting on the racism in the justice system period.

BTW, The BET reporter forgot to mention that not only is corporate America refusing to hire ex-Black-cons, but would rather work them for little or nothing while they are behind prison walls.
