checkbox (1K)Ending Race Discrimination in Institutional Reports and Studies

PLEASE SIGN PETITION

Not many seem to realize that race division is a daily endeavor in America each time they read an article or study based on race variables. When those articles separate people by race and ethnic background, it is in fact a racist exploit. Somehow, too many people have become immune to these type reports and naively see them as harmless. But this is far from the truth....[more]

spelman (3K)Bill "Willie Lynch" Cosby Attempts To Kick the Black Man Down, Again!

By now, the Black community should take a second look at this Cosby person and wonder just whose side he is on. From his latest rhetoric at Spelman college this past weekend, one would think he is wearing Black face as he solicited the Spelman females with a $20 million dollar donation, or is he simply a wealthy trick and Spelman's sugar-daddy....[more]

Hampton University Repression
Students Not Expelled! ...But Fight Not Over
By John Robinson

Follow-up to: Corporate Plantation: Political Repression and the Hampton Model

Hampton University students faced disciplinary hearings on Dec 2, 2005 at 9:00 am in the Student Center cyber lounge. As I arrived I immediately noticed bands of protesters already picketing right outside the University. By the time the six other students and I met with the parents and lawyers in front of the room that the hearing was to be held, there were already over 20 student supporters standing right outside the door....[more]

College, Where Are The Black Males?

The following list of Black female/male student enrollment ratios at Historically Black Colleges is telling. The figures are for the 1999-2000 year. We believe that the figures are probably representative of what is occurring at predominantly white colleges where Black students are enrolled. You don't have to be a mathematician to figure out why our critical thinkers are concerned. Check out the percentages below........[more]

student (2K)7 Excuses Not to Go to College

Going to college is NOT "white" in action; going to college is about making a future for yourself and your possible future family. It's about learning of the world around you and how to get over in a society that values education, not "whites only.".......[more]

A college education is vital in today's society in order to compete or even to survive. The difference could mean literally poverty or success. Though it has become a necessity to earn a college degree, there are other alternatives to success in life that mainstream society does not stress.

There are also things about the concept of college that many people do not understand. College trains us to be productive workers in a capitalist society yet neglects to teach us how to protect ourselves against capitalist ventures. Afromerica will examine the relationship between preparing yourself for life and being prepared.
