Black Voices, Africana Sell Out to American Propaganda
Propaganda is used to persuade people to think and believe one way and one way only. The creators of propaganda never allow the other side to give its story nor allow the people they are pushing their propaganda on to see the other side, but they are slowly indoctrinated with a specific ideology. They monopolize the only sources of media and information the people have by use of government censorship. Because AOL is a big player in the American stock market, it has enough influence as to the content (media) they bring to the Internet audience regardless of how slanted it is. They also have control of the ISP service they provide and how it interacts with the user's computer, which is always suspect. The problem with this is that the content they are feeding Black America is suspect. It is written by writers who write for other websites and media outlets that promote racism in subtle forms. They write studies about race differences and Black behavior and publish it on other sites and in certain peer journals, then tailor some other articles for the Black audience that fit their interest, and in forms of negative propaganda. Blacks do not realize that the content they are reading was fashioned after the ideologies of bigoted writers who participate in overall negative studies of Blacks when among their peer groups. AOL bought-out Black Voices and took over the content. Though the content change may have not been apparent at the beginning, it changed over time toward a liberally demeaning style. Many people do not notice these changes because it comes subtly through the mind. However, after a while, when at one point a reader thinks they are enjoying an article about the positives of Black America, they are actually absorbing subtly implanted negativities of Black America, and themselves. Afromerica warns Blacks against these websites and their objectives. Be careful when Africana gives over its readership to AOL/Black Voices. They will continue with the same programs, such as the message boards and chat areas, but in time, the boards are soon filled with racist, like at BET. That's why they closed their boards temporarily. Black Internet users who frequent Black Voices and Africana will have to search for positive, uncut Black content to satisfy their desires for information. If not, one will find themselves thinking like the Uncle Toms of America, negatively about all other Blacks and unknowingly undermining themselves. Consider this a warning! © 2005 By CR Hamilton
