Africans Must Join Hands And Fight Homosexuality

HOMOSEXUALITY and lesbianism are two pervasions rapidly eating into our society yet we do not seem bothered.

The press has more than once carried stories of the growing fraternity of lesbians and homosexuals and exposed their nooks.

Unfortunately, much as the acts are criminal, the Police has not taken any step to apprehend the suspects.

It is not clear why the Police, with all its machinery, does not track and crackdown on these criminals and rid our society of this evil. The leads are well-laid down by The New Vision reporters!

Although some quarters have suggested that these people are so oriented and as such should not be discriminated against, I strongly disagree.

Lesbianism and homosexuality are just habits like smoking, drinking alcohol, drug abuse, etc - all highly addictive habits.

In the Sunday Vision of May 15, the conscripts give moving testimonies of how their siblings lured them into this bad habit under the nose of their unsuspecting parents.

It is also widely known that most single-sex boarding schools in Uganda are breeding grounds for these perverts and even head teachers and teachers know but only choose to close an eye for unknown reasons - possibly they too participate in the evil.

It is reported that new pupils in these schools are forced into same-sex sex orgies by way of bullying, only to get addicted after repeated unabated exploitation.

As a way forward, parents should start talking candidly to their children about the evil of homosexuality and lesbianism. Religious leaders should also take part by repeatedly condemning, in churches and mosques, the evil of homosexuality and lesbianism.

Schools where the evil is practiced should be exposed so that the head teachers can take decisive action against the perverting pupils.

The Police should visit the holes mentioned in the press, spy on the perverts, arrest and prosecute them.

Relevant government departments must outlaw or restrict websites, magazines, newspapers and television channels promoting immorality - including homosexuality, lesbianism, pornography, etc.

The fight against this perversion must be relentless and a continuous process. It is clear the First World is heavily rooting for this evil as our women who attended the Beijing conference can attest. The motives are as satanic as the acts themselves. Africa (and Uganda in particular) should not allow the destruction of cultural values simply because the West orders us around under the guise of innumerable "rights".
