AFRO COLONIZING
blkfamily2 (3K)Colonizing the Black Family

Like Europe divided Africa and made dependant the many nations on Euro-production, so has white America colonized and dependified the Black family. The phrase "it takes a village" has been worn beyond its use especially sense the Black family has become more dysfunctional than ever.

It seems that Blacks cannot rise above the trends set by mainstream America where it pertains to living; we have to adopt all their vices and bare the curse they bare because of the immorality spreading the country. Thus as a people we are now dysfunctional.

The family, when at one time drew strength from unity, loyalty and honor - attributes strong in the Motherland - the Black American family has fallen to distrust, envy, and self-destruction. Our fathers and grandfathers lack the wealth to pass on to their children which leaves their children lacking for the future of their children, and so on.

We fight one another, betray one another, envy one another and steal from one another without any regard to family honor or pride. We go without speaking for years, separate from each other and disown each other, all because we have lost that once valued sense of respect and family loyalty.

We have lost those things because we live in a self-regulated society that promotes rugged individualism among a people who would slit the throats of their own mothers if it meant building capital.

We have fallen to the curses of greed and lust and hatred for each other because we seek to emulate the white man and his ways. Scrapping and scratching to make it in this world we have neglected to care for what our own family members and or neighbors are in need of.

We withhold information from one another and sabotage one another. We discourage, mislead, and lie to one another all based on the hopes that we will benefit in some way. There are children who lack because brother played the game or because sister saw an opportunity. There are mothers who are hurting because daughters mimic the white girls.

There are fathers who are ashamed because sons disrespect the name and the dream. Grandparent's names are forgotten and their advice is ignored, giving way to politically correct ideologies of the "American way."

The capitalist has drained our ideas and he profits from our creativity. The oppressor has exploited our talents and the people enjoy our antics while he continues to gather wealth. We look like he wants us to, talk like he demands, and we labor for what he wants to give us, and we teach our children to submit to these very "opportunities."

He has taken from us our innovation, he has stolen our might; he has raped our virtuousness and lastly he has dwindled our fate. We believe in and wait for his visions but neglect to bring forth or even dream up our own. We depend on his promises while our children, sons, daughters, and neighbors slave endlessly and secretly for the white man who colonizes us forever.

We are sick. We are done and should be turned over to the death awaiting us and for the sorrow that sits in our distant future, as long as we depend on and care for this…man. We wish for him, we pray for him, we love him and he hates us, trying tirelessly to destroy us and our children as we and they sleep at night on the pillow he made, the bed he designed, and the home he has indebted us to.

We have been colonized again. We have become the property of and dependants on a people who are planning the death of us, and we wake up every morning ready to make him richer. What have we done and how do we escape. We do what we have to do, which is once again, love one another and ourselves.
