After the devastation of hurricane Katrina, living standards in the entire city of New Orleans dropped for both the rich and the poor. The poor, according to the innuendos and images of the news media, are Black people, who have resorted to taking food from nearby stores, not only food, but other non-necessities, such as jewelry. Eventhough, food and clothing are necessities in such a time.

Despite the tragedy the people of New Orleans face, mainstream media, orchestrated by spoon-fed white boys and prissy white women who know nothing of the life of poverty, have put into place their typical reporting tactics; whites are profiled as victims and Blacks are profiled as criminals or mentally lost. This method taken by the cable news reporters reflect on their indifference toward the Blacks and their group mind-set for whites.

The hurricane took no mercy on the rich or poor and all were brought to their knees per se. However, there is no reports of white collar crime going on or stories being magnified over and over by news reporters that expose the crimes being committed by middle managerial white collar workers, store owners, or even law enforcement officers themselves, and not because it does not exist, and if one believes it does not, they are brainsick.

There is no way on this earth the only problem are Blacks taking things for survival. Whites too, are taking things for their survival and probably more, yet the media will not profile them but will profile the Black face while all white faces are seen telling their stories of survival, goodness and neighborly love.

This is a sure show of indifference toward the poor and anyone trying to survive and not die. The taking of food and clothes should not be a concern to law enforcement, saving lives should be. In fact, it is reported that store owners have opened stores just for that purpose, to get things needed for survival.

What about Mr. Johnson from accounting and his neighbor Mr. Jones, how do we know if they have not hit the local golf shop. Or what about Frank and Bob the fishermen, have they been down to the hardward store or the sporting goods store for some fish and tackle? As long as the focus is on Blacks, no one thinks about the lillie white thieves.

This act of racial undermining of Blacks by the media is a pathetic show of bigotry and hatred toward a people. Even in times of hardship, we are displayed and portrayed to the world through images of negativity.
