THE OPEN MIND

bush3 (2K)Politics of Deception
By T. Duffy

Now that president Bush is on his way out of the door, some Americans will be happy, believing the worst is over. Of course, many blacks will be happy because he's a republican and most blacks are democrats.

So it's a good time to get their so-called care givers in office. But partisan politics has nothing to do with thievery. It occurs from both sides of the spectrum. Few would believe there will be after shocks from what has already been done, which will affect us for years.

In fact, it may have already started, as we watch the activity of the stock market, the housing dilemma and gas prices climbing regularly. So [Mr. Recession] is going to show how successful mister Bush has done his job. Not for us, but his friends who will secretly pass the manila envelopes to his hand in gratitude.

But with some sense of respect, he still knows the only way he could show us he's not such a bad guy, is to send each one of us a check, although his real intent is to ultimately give most of it to [Mr. Recession] anyway.

So expecting most of us to feel good about holding that valuable piece of paper in our hands for a few seconds, we would never believe he's using us to correct what he has screwed up. But above all, he still can be proud since his troops will probably still be fighting for him even after he's gone.

What's strange, I've never heard a plan for their lives or families after he leaves or when they return from what they call a war. Somehow removing bad people from any political office has become something to debate, not something that should be mandatory. Just looking at the climbing divorce rate in this country, most people don't deal with bad behavior in their own lives.

Yet many make excuses and tolerate the worse from people whose responsibilities suppose to bring forth integrity. It shouldn't have been difficult to believe Hillary Clinton would've eventually ended her relationship with her husband after his transgression. But blacks who often complain about being cheated on, thought [it was cool], so it was okay.

But few would believe the scam was knowing she was going to eventually run for president. So they compromised, as her husband moved amongst blacks that have lately been deemed less educated and would be easy to influence to get their votes. So Bush isn't the only politician that has scammed their way in and out our lives.

Since most people have a favorite television and radio news station they prefer, the scam continues. But closer to home within the smaller governments, where the rip offs are sometimes more personal. Oddly it usually takes an apology and a bag of goodies, for people to forgive.
