Sumumba Sobukwe, BSW is a experienced social worker, seminar leader, consultant and author of: "From Boys to Men Mentorship Program, Echoes from the Colony", and "You Belong Me." He is also the founder and president of THE MAAT SERIES, a New York based consulting service that offers personal and professional development seminars and workshops. Sumumba has written articles for several newspapers and appeared on radio and television programs.

He has been featured on WHCR’s ASHE’, and two of his workshops: 'Working with Troubled Adolescents' and 'Anger and the African-American Male' have been featured at Good Shepherd Human Service Workshops and another ‘Healing in the hood’ -Helping our clients overcome the environmental hazards of living in their community-, has been featured at the National Puerto Rican Family institute, and hosted; 'The History of Our Love @ Singles Night' as part of Black History Month at the Hueman Book Store in Harlem, New York in February of 2005.

Sobukwe was the keynote speaker at The Administration for Children Services 'Take Our Child To Work Day' and also gave a series of workshops at YOUTH SUMMIT DAY entitled: "Cultural Images-HIP-HOP AND BEYOND" for The Visiting Nurses Association, all in May of 2005.

He has also recently appeared as a panelist for a discussion on 'What African-American men want in a wife' Part 1 and 2. Sobukwe will also be appearing in the documentary film about singles in New York called 'Potential Partners' which is scheduled to be released in the fall. Presently, Sumumba Sobukwe has his second book of poetry: "You Belong To Me (Poems From My Heart)", which is available now and a third book, which is scheduled to be released in August entitled, "Dating Games: (A Brotha Speaks Up)".
