"It is now obvious the invasion of Iraq had less to do with any threat from Saddam's long-gone WMD program and certainly less to do to do with fighting International terrorism than it has to do with gaining control over Iraq's hydrocarbon reserves and in doing so maintaining the U.S. dollar as the monopoly currency for the critical international oil market. Prior to the US invasion of Iraq, I wrote several columns informing our people about the real reasons the Bush administration put Saddam Hussein in their crosshairs, the invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with WMD or 9-11. Bush and Co. plotted to take Hussein and Chavez of Venezuela out because they headed oil-producing nations that had (in the case of Saddam Hussein) or were planning to switch from the US dollar to the European Union currency the Euro as the official exchange currency for their nation's oil. To make matters worse for the US this move was also being contemplated by several other OPEC nations including Iran. When Saddam Hussein switched to the Euro in 2000 the dollar was still stronger than the Euro but in the ensuing months the Euro surpassed the dollar in value and as more countries joined the European Union the Euro will become even stronger as a trade currency, severely undermining the United States global economic hegemony and the nation's economy! In short, Saddam Hussein did what no opposing nation's army could do; undermine the United States' position as the world's economic leader. Bush and Co. saw the handwriting on the wall as the Euro rose and the US dollar fell along with its concomitant stature as the world's medium of exchange. If OPEC had decided to go along with Saddam Hussein and Chavez, AmeriKKKa would have been reduced to an also ran second-rate economic power overnight. The recession, the rising trade deficits and OPEC's control over petrodollars would have signaled a drastic and immediate end to AmeriKKKa's reign of power. In this scenario AmeriKKKa employed the only viable option it had, its' military to stave off its' impending demise. Invading Iraq provided a brief stay but the Iraqi resistance to US occupation and the costs of protracted imperialistic wars has also put the federal budget in a deeper hole. Like all predatory empires the US's eyes were bigger than its stomach and the ruling elites are now paying heavily for their greed. The tragic thing about all this is that unsuspecting citizens are being duped and deceived into sacrificing their children's lives and sustenance to support an empire that was on wobbly legs even before Saddam Hussein switched to the Euro. Now to keep the madness going, the US will eventually have to find another country to wage war on. They will do what Western imperialist aspirants have always done, lie to their own people, and use them as cannon fodder and when that fails resort to using mercenaries to do their dirty work. That is what is happening in Iraq. The four "contractors" that were killed and their bodies mutilated in Fallujah were mercenaries. That is also why the US is going after the resistance forces in Fallujah with a vengeance, as payback for the killing of their mercenaries and squash the resistance. Being cowards Bush and Co really don't want to tackle North Korea a nation with an army primed and ready to rumble and nuclear weapons. Since they have their hands full in Iraq, they are reluctant to go after Iran until they can "pacify" Iraq; which is more than a notion. So what is a paper tiger to do? They will continue to seek out weaker nations to bully, browbeat and bum rush. But in the end, the AmeriKKKan Empire is on shaky ground and is now seen by the rest of the world as the rabid wolf it is. © 2005 By Afromerica
