Background Information
I'm a fairly literate opinionated 67 year old survivor whose life has been influenced by many courageous personalities from all walks of life. Most of all my major influences after parents have been writers, and teachers. I can't begin to list them all so I won't list any.

I write primarily under the name M. Bennett Hooper, M is for myself whom I am discovering daily, Bennett is for my father whom I miss, and Hooper is for my lover/husband who has shown me the true meaning of unconditional love.

Accomplishments
Former host of poetry venues in Memphis, TN and West Memphis, AR. Current MC at Nappibynatue in Memphis, TN host is Powaah Morris. Former feature Poet at Precious Cargo, and DWB's in Memphis,TN. Featured on cableTV on LEADS hosted by Mr. Blair. Memphis,TN. Currently published in Kola Boof's latest book, Flesh and The Devil. Former Editorial contributor to Arkansas State Press, under the then ownership of the legendary Daisy Bates. (1986) nominee for Publisher's award.

Additional Information
One has to start somewhere. I waited until I turned 65 to get the courage to just scream. I just finished my first poetry Cd entitled "The Piper Is Here", and completed a chap book of 61 poems entitled, "Mirrors" an Anthology. Both projects self produced and published. First publication sold out, second release in progress.

Ghetto Terrorism is what?

What is ghetto terrorism? The first answer is usually Black on Black crime and that is definitely an act of terrorism. The second could be substandard housing, healthcare, and education. The list goes on. In my humble opinion the most terrifying is the lack of parenting of ghetto captive children.. I do not accept the lack of a fathers presence as the primary reason for captive ghetto children. I place blame where birth begins right at the birth canal.......[more]
