The War At HomeWe have a lot of nerve, huh. Being more concerned about gay marriage than about America being at war with another country that neither attacked, threatened to attack, nor provoked an attack. White America, so plagued by its own historical racism that it so desperately tries to escape it by, of all things claiming to be "color blind", has only succeeded in causing their own hypocrisy to become more visible. The mere attempt to avoid the issue by creating such a whitewash, escapist term speaks louder than anything else possibly could to acknowledging the existence of racism as the true, persistent threat to America's future. Black Americans, the most hated and despised group in America, amazingly sought to integrate into the same system that enslaved, raped, tortured, dehumanized, fragmented, and marginalized them. We still suffer the effects of these manifestations to this very day, every day, and we haven't figured out how to eliminate them from our communities. In short, the two most sin-inundated (if I may use that word) populations in the country swallow the camels of the aforementioned dilemmas, while straining at the gnat of homosexual marriage! Amazing, isn't it?! Thanks to the white elite, we are at war again. It is a fact that the US essentially created Saddam Hussein, provided the chemical weapons he used against the citizens of Iraq…wait a minute. Let me break it down. Back in the 80s when he, Saddam, gassed these people, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush (then President and Vice-Pres.) knew of and applauded his atrocities. They did so because Saddam Hussein helped the US gain one of its most important objectives, that being establishing supremacy during the Soviet Union-Iran contest of that time. See, Iran and Iraq were mere pawns in the struggle between the US and the Soviet Union for super-power-dom, and Saddam's gassing of his fellow country-folk was a necessity as far as Ronald Reagan's US foreign policy objectives were concerned. It didn't seem to matter so much then that Saddam's 'weapons of mass destruction' were used on 'his own people'. Truthfully speaking, Iraq is as fragmented as the US, made up of Bathists, Shiite, Sunni, and Kurd - so he saw them as being his enemy as much as he did the US in recent years. Likewise, the US, being split between white, black, Asian, Hispanic, democrat, republican, gay, straight, elitist, and "commonist" (that means you and me; regular folk) to name a few - it would be the same as the US government allowing blacks to be lynched wholesale and not doing anything about it. Wait a minute, that did happen, didn't it? In the 2000 election, Republican tricksters in Florida and other states totally and unashamedly disenfranchised millions of black voters. Hmmm, not much difference between the white US government and African Americans compared to Saddam Hussein and the Kurds, huh. Now that the opposing sides have clearly been established, where do we go from here? Let me show you where to go by telling you where not to go. Thanks to G-Dub, the Third World War has begun. Many Christians look around and proclaim, "We're in the last days!" By 'the last days' they mean the end of the world as we know it. To that, I say good riddance, since the world, age, or era, as we know it, and have known it, is marked not by demonstrations in humanitarianism but by war, the sooner it ends the better. I hear Christians like Hal Lindsay, Pat Robinson, and other boneheads like them cheer G-Dub on to conquering the globe because they think it is the will and desire of God. These warmongers are in reality mentally sick, obsessed with a demonic preoccupation for the taste of blood and flesh. They have brought this world to the brink of destruction as they continue their drive to dominate everything in an attempt to create their own version of heaven. Yet Jesus said, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth…" I would rather live on a peaceful Earth than inhabit a warring heaven. The Bible is full of images of battles, wars and conflicts, leading the reader to believe that God is in favor of war. It makes one think that God uses war to achieve goals and objectives. How ridiculous! We have taken the wrong lesson away from the wars detailed in the scriptures. What we should have learned is how to avoid war that ends life, tears down civilizations, and collapses the hope of humankind for a peaceful global atmosphere. The deceitful, impure heart purposely manipulates the minds of people toward evil pursuits. The obnoxious and arrogant seek war as a legal, legitimate means to and end. People do not like war. God does not like war. It seems if we are not warring in a distant, foreign land we are warring here at home. The various factions screaming and scratching to get to the top of the heap and push their agenda that satisfies their desires while leaving most others to fend for themselves. So, you warmongers who cry for the blood of others, where are your morals and values you claim to hold so dear? While black man and woman after black man and woman die at the hands of police, what is, I wonder, the source of the deafening silence? As black and brown youths are locked away in penal warehouses, why are you not moving to turn this tide into the direction of education and employment? When blacks were so greatly denied the right to have their vote counted in the 2000 Presidential election, why are you not calling for the protection of this right for all, regardless of color, that you cherish? Hypocrites! Vipers! Someone should warn you of the destruction to come in hopes that you would turn from you wicked ways. Consider this your warning. The way to go is away from the present course of division and separation. The Elite are one, and strong because they cause us to split again and again thereby weakening the masses. The masses must move to unite, but not against the elite. We must move to unite with ourselves. Let our motivation not be as theirs, which is to gain the upper hand. We must be motivated by the necessity of creating balance. If we were to gain the upper hand, we would soon begin to lapse into two large groups, then four less large groups, then eight smaller groups, and so on. Look at the beginning of this country for the model of what not to do. It was once one large monolithic group bent on gaining the upper hand over the Natives and the slaves. Once achieved, they then turned on themselves, i.e., the Civil War. To avoid this, we must maintain our diversity and group identities while finding common ground upon which to build our movement to balance out the opposing elitists of this society. This can be achieved, in the same way a chain has many links yet always works together for one purpose. What is that purpose? The fact that we are not the elite, and because we are not, we are vulnerable while fragmented, but much less vulnerable united in our diversity. This is the way to go, and I must admit, much easier said then done. It is either unite, or be destroyed. By the time this world war ends there will be a lot less of us. The Elite will still be calling the shots, sending your sons and daughters into battle to die and be blown up, and creating divisive schemes like, "Should gays have the right to marry?" As long as we allow these schisms to be used against us we will always be powerless, confused and hopelessly lost. Fragmentation is the cancer of the masses and the salvation of the elite. Jesus prayed several times for God to unite and make the believers one. I know most of you have something with almost every other group of people that would prevent you from uniting with other groups. Why is that? Because you have believed that God forbids you from joining with them based on those differences. Shame on you! I would suggest that you go back and re-read your Bible; specifically the words of Jesus to be certain you understand his teachings. Then re-look at your neighbor, co-worker, and in short the people around you and see the common denominator that we all share from birth to death - our humanity. The names, labels, ideas, beliefs, and such that we acquire between those two events in reality mean little if we cannot do what Jesus commanded, to love God and love our neighbor as ourselves. I will leave that with you to ponder. See you next time. © 2004 By Dan Hardman
